Black Student Union
While at FIU, I joined the General Board for BSU. I was apart of Traditions Committee for Fall 2019 - Spring 2020 and the Marketing & Promotions Committee in Spring 2021.

SISTUHS, Inc.
I joined SISTUHS, Inc. during my first semester at FIU. In January 2020, I was appointed as the co-chair for Activities within my chapter. This was my first major position at FIU and I had so many ideas for it. When the pandemic broke out, my committee and I learned how to accommodate to everyone's needs and have virtual yet engaging events that discussed Black culture but also empowered everyone in the FIU community.

National Council of Negro Women, Inc.
I joined FIU's Section of NCNW during my first semester. It was great to be around other women like myself who understand what it is to be a Black woman. We also held discussion panels talking about prevalent social issues in our local and global communities.

During the Spring 2021 semester I served as the Membership Coordinator and educated twelve new members on what National Council of Negro Women entails.
Student Support Services Program
Within SSS, I was able to connect with fellow first-generation students or students who have similar struggles to me while in college. My favorite memories with SSS is Happy Hours which are on Thursdays. We would talk about almost anything or just share how we're doing. It was always a nice break in between my classes. I was also able to mentor a freshman and offer advice when needed.
Transfer Ambassador Program
As a fellow transfer student, I felt it important to become an ambassador and give tips to other transfers on how to navigate FIU. It was especially hard for some transfers since they started classes virtually. It was great connecting with other transfers and sharing my experience and hearing what some of their fears and successes are. We met every other week and were paired up with mentees as well.
Panther Camp Facilitator
Becoming a Panther Camp Facilitator felt like a full circle moment. Attending as a camper, I was inspired to become involved as a FIU student and help guide other new and incoming students to FIU, just like how my facilitators did for me. It really helped me put my guard down and want to make new experiences with fellow students. It was challenging to engage our campers when the COVID-19 outbreak happened but we were able to engage with everyone virtually. I am so grateful to have an experience like this with a team like that. I also started picking up on inclusive language since that is a big important aspect with Panther Camp.
Pre-Med American Medical Student Association
I was able to serve my community and learn about the different needs and learn how to become a future health professional. I also have been able to connect with other pre-medical students and their mission to medical school.
Minority Association for Pre-Health Students
Within this organization, I was able to connect and network with other students who are minorities and interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. A lot of us have the shared experience of being first-generation student in college and the difficulties with navigating college. I even became a mentor for a fellow transfer student who wants to become a nurse.
